Review of An Academic Affair

I enjoyed this entertaining romance story. Sadie and Jonah have been in each other’s orbit for years as they pursued their degrees at various levels in academia. They definitely have not enjoyed a warm relationship since they have constantly competed with one another. Now there is a great teaching opportunity that they both want. Sadie and Jonah each have personal as well as financial reasons why they really need this job. Sadie is chosen, but she feels for Jonah and empathizes with his reasons for needing the job. She then discovers a loophole in the contract, and she convinces him to enter a fake marriage with her so they both will get a job. It was engaging to see them work through their own personal issues as well as take on their new demanding teaching positions. I liked seeing their dynamic change through their fake marriage. I enjoyed this book and found the characters and the setting interesting. Looking forward to reading more from this author.
