Review of Just Playing House
I thoroughly enjoyed this second-chance romance. Although this is a romance book, it definitely covers some serious topics. Marley carries the BRCA gene that causes breast cancer, so she has made the decision to have a bilateral mastectomy. Nikhil has recently come back into her life, and he is very supportive of her decision. They make a deal that she will be his personal stylist as he tries to push his tenuous acting career forward, and he will care for her during her recov

Review of No Matter What
I want to start by saying I love this author’s books. Unfortunately, this one didn’t quite work for me. I’m not even sure why it didn’t, but I wasn’t connected to the story for some reason. The plot covered some important aspects surrounding PTSD and how it has affected the main characters. I was confused as to why there was so much miscommunication between the main couple, considering they had been married quite a while already. Wouldn’t this have been a problem throughout t

Review of The Survivor
This is a fast-paced, locked-room style thriller. Ben starts receiving threatening texts as he is travelling on the NY subway. They tell him not to get off the train and also that he needs to stop certain people from getting off, or they will be killed. As these passengers get off the train, Ben is horrified to see that the messages are true. As the book progresses, more comes to light about Ben’s past and how it is affecting the situation today, as it is told in dual timelin

Review of A Good Animal
This is a quiet, character-driven novel from a debut author. Everett is a senior in high school and wants nothing more than to continue working at his family’s sheep farm after high school, with plans to eventually take it over when his parents retire. Mary is the new girl in town and can’t wait until she graduates and can head to Art school and never come back. Everett and Mary start dating, and it is as exciting and intoxicating as first love can be. As the end of the schoo

Review of My Husband's Wife
I have to say, for the first third of this book, I wasn’t that invested. From that point on, I was racing through the pages to the end. This one had great twists and kept me guessing. As with most books, I went into this one completely blind, and I’m so glad I did. I’m not going to mention any plot points, so I don’t give anything away. This is an intriguing and twisty thriller!

Review of Next Level Love
This is the second book in a series, but can be read as a standalone. Lincoln and Elizabeth meet when he is assigned as her manager for her internship at his civil engineering company. They are both gamers in their free time and are unaware that they have an online connection because of this. They have been online friends for years as Link and Lily. Elizabeth slowly starts to realize her boss is the same person she has been talking to and growing closer to while gaming. I lov

Review of The Future Saints
Another amazing book by this talented author! This story is reminiscent of Daisy Jones but completely stands on its own. Theo, a record exec, convinces a spiralling and collapsing band to give themselves another chance. In particular, Hannah, the lead singer and pulse of the trio. As they soon achieve newfound and amazing success, there are still fractures that need to be addressed within the band. At the core of their problems is the death of their previous manager, who was

Review of In Your Dreams
This is a lovely romance story! This book is part of a series but can be read as a standalone. James has always secretly loved Madison, so when he sees an opportunity to help her come back to their hometown, he jumps at the plan. Madison is coming home to be the chef in James new restaurant. Their relationship soon moves from professional to romantic. Since this is part of a series, there are many returning characters, which helps round out the plot. This book has good flow a
