Review of The Survivor

This is a fast-paced, locked-room style thriller. Ben starts receiving threatening texts as he is travelling on the NY subway. They tell him not to get off the train and also that he needs to stop certain people from getting off, or they will be killed. As these passengers get off the train, Ben is horrified to see that the messages are true. As the book progresses, more comes to light about Ben’s past and how it is affecting the situation today, as it is told in dual timelines. A NYPD detective gets on the train, and between her and Ben, they unravel who the mastermind of this shocking plan could be. The suspense is palpable from the first chapter and is ramped up throughout the book. I was definitely engaged and interested in the plot from the beginning to the end.
