Review of Heart the Lover

I loved this book even though it made me shed a lot of tears. Jordan is in her senior year when she meets Sam and Yash, who are also attending her college. As Jordan begins a relationship with Sam, she realizes she is also drawn to Yash. After graduation, Jordan and Sam have an ugly fallout and breakup,, and she and Yash soon start their own relationship. Throughout this, the men remain best friends. As time passes, Jordan moves to France, and then she plans to start her future with Yash in NYC, but he doesn’t show up. This sends both of their lives on a different course. Many years later, we again get the story of all three of the main characters as they reach middle age and are unexpectedly in each other’s lives again. I haven’t read Writers and Lovers by this author, but I hope to soon, as Heart The Lover is a follow-up or companion novel to that one. This is a poignant look at heartbreak and friendship, and it had me engrossed from start to finish. This one will stay with me!
