Review of One Golden Summer

Every summer, I excitedly look forward to a new Carley Fortune book! And this summer was no exception, but now I’m sad. Why? Didn’t I like it? No, that’s not the problem. The reason I’m sad is that it was so good, but now I’ve read it and loved it and have to wait another year for a new book. This is Charlie’s story, who was a character in her first book. I’m so happy we get to learn all about Charlie, who is now a few years older. His chemistry with Alice is wonderful, and their slow-burning relationship was well written. I enjoyed being transported back to the lake and getting to experience all the summer vibes. Alice’s grandma was a terrific secondary character. If you want to read about a lovely summer romance, you definitely need to read this one. I absolutely loved it!!
