BOOKS AND CHINOOKS

This is the follow-up to last year’s book by this author, Sandwich. I actually enjoyed this book more. I liked the characters better this time around, but that may be due to getting to know them better. Rocky’s dad is living with them, and he brought a lot to the story. Overall, it was fun to catch up with these characters and I would love to see what happens with them next.

This was definitely an intense and engrossing book. Cami survived a violent home invasion eleven years ago, where her mom and sister were murdered. She has rebuilt her life as best she can, and then she receives a phone call that causes her new fear. She sees a horrifying video where a young boy has been kidnapped and is being held in a barren room in the woods. Could this be the baby she gave up for adoption? This was a fun time loop romance! Carly and Adam, and the rest of Julian, California, are caught in a very frustrating time loop! Initially, Carly and Adam can’t stand each other after an unfortunate series of first meetings, but they soon begin to realize that they need to work together to get out of the time loop. This might be my new favourite Annabel Monaghan book! I loved how the characters were depicted with strong, heartfelt, and real emotions. Both Dan and Jane were engaging characters with amazing chemistry. The writing is great and the plot moved at a good pace. Give this one a try if you’re looking for an interesting romance read.

I really liked this book! Chani is struggling in her writing career but then gets a chance to interview movie heartthrob Gabe. They both need her article to give them a positive career boost. It is assumed that they had an intimate relationship over the interview weekend. This assumption follows Chani throughout her career. Ten years later she is asked to do a follow up article. I read this author’s book, Funny You Should Ask, last year and this follows that one. Gabe and Chani appear in this one as secondary characters but this book can definitely be considered a standalone book. I liked this book but I didn’t love it. I was so distracted by the description of Alfie. With how he is described I saw him as the Beast in Beauty and the Beast. The writing was good and flowed well. The fake dating was fun! I will definitely look for more from this author.

This was a well written and entertaining romcom. Molly and Seth are opposites in their feelings about finding true love. Molly doesn’t believe in it and Seth does. They are seated together at their high school reunion (much to Molly’s dismay) and they make their feelings known. This is a very comprehensive book on Tom Brady and Bill Belichick as to who was more pivotal in their overall success in the NFL. NFL and even non-football fans know of the amazing accomplishments Brady and Belichick had with the New England Patriots. Six Super Bowls is quite a feat! Wow. This was a twisty and suspenseful story! Savi is a newly successful novelist but is struggling with her success. The more pressure placed on her, the more she feels like she is losing herself. And maybe she is! This one definitely had me guessing. A few of the twists I figured out, but not many. The atmospheric writing and fast plot kept my interest throughout. It’s not a long book and I read it in one day. A very enjoyable read!
